A day seen through the people who lived it.
Event photography focused on capturing the energy, interactions and spontaneous moments unfolding throughout the day. Rather than simply documenting what happened, the series looks at the event through its audience, particularly the expressions, curiosity and excitement of the children.

Getting on their level
Working with children meant becoming part of their world rather than observing it from a distance. I photographed at their eye level, moved into the middle of the group and spent time breaking the ice before worrying about the shot.
Once they became comfortable with the camera, the photographs changed. What started as event coverage became spontaneous, playful and much more personal. By the end of the day, when it was time for the class portraits, the children were actively choosing to gather around my camera.
